These Terms and Conditions apply in relation to your attendance and participation at the Mortgage Choice National Conference in Sydney from 26 - 29 August 2025 (inclusive) and related travel.
1. Definitions
The meanings of the defined terms used in these Terms and Conditions are set out below.
• Accommodation means the hotel (Hyatt Regency Sydney) specified in your registration or such other hotel arranged by the Event Organisers and advised to You.
• Accommodation Dates means the nights of 26 - 28 August 2025 with check-in and check-out times set by the hotel specified in your registration.
• Core Dates means 26 - 29 August 2025.
• Perth group return flights means travelling on the core dates of 26 - 29 August 2025.
• Accompanying Partner means any person accompanying You to the Event.
• Mortgage Choice means Mortgage Choice Pty Ltd (ABN 57 009 161 979)
• Australian Consumer Law means Schedule 2 to the Competition and Consumer Act 2010 and the corresponding provisions of any applicable state or territory laws.
• Claim means any action, suit, claim, proceeding, demand, Loss, damages, cost and expense of any nature whatsoever.
• Event Organisers means Mortgage Choice and TRIBE collectively and individually.
• Event means Mortgage Choice National Conference in Sydney, Australia, from 26 - 29 August 2025 (inclusive) and related travel.
• Loss means any claim, action, damage, loss, liability, cost, charge, expense suffered or incurred, whether direct, indirect or consequential and whether arising in contract, tort (including negligence), statute or otherwise.
• Registration Fees means the fees payable with respect to the Event (if any).
• Non-refundable deposit means a deposit taken at the time of registration.
• Terms and Conditions means these terms and conditions.
• TRIBE means Tribe Travel & Events Pty Ltd ABN 52 620 641 812 (trading as TRIBE Management).
• You/Your means the person who agrees to these Terms and Conditions.
2. Limitation of liability and release
2.1 You may have certain rights under Australian Consumer Law or other applicable laws that cannot be lawfully excluded or limited (Consumer Rights). Nothing in these Terms and Conditions applies to the extent that it is inconsistent with Your Consumer Rights.
2.2 To the extent lawfully permitted, the Event Organisers and their directors, officers, employees, agents and contractors, are not liable to You for any Loss arising from or in any way connected with, the Event.
2.3 To the extent lawfully permitted, You release and forever discharge the Event Organisers and their directors, officers, employees, agents and contractors from all Claims which You may otherwise have for Loss to property (including but not limited to personal property or belongings) and bodily injury or death however caused, including (without limitation) if caused by negligence or otherwise, arising from or in any way connected with, the Event.
3. Indemnity
To the extent lawfully permitted, You indemnify and agree to hold harmless the Event Organisers and their directors, officers, employees, agents and contractors, in respect of any Claim by any person including, without limitation, You, an Accompanying Partner or another Event attendee, arising as a result of or in any way connected with Your and/or any Accompanying Partner's attendance or actions at the Event.
4. Force majeure
If the Event is cancelled in its entirety by the Event Organisers for any reason beyond their control, including but not limited to fire, flood, strikes, riots, civil disturbance, government regulations, natural disaster, severe weather conditions, mechanical malfunction or other conditions which make it impossible, illegal or inadvisable to hold the Event, the Event Organisers will, acting reasonably: (a) reschedule the Event for another date; or (b) refund monies paid to the Event Organisers by You for the Event less expenses incurred by the Event Organisers in connection with the Event and any amount usually recoverable under a comprehensive travel insurance policy. To the extent permitted by law, the provision of either (a) or (b) will fully discharge all obligations of the Event Organisers to you and be in full and final settlement of any Loss to you.
5. Privacy
The Event Organisers will use your personal information to make arrangements in connection with the Event and may disclose your personal information to third parties who assist in providing services in connection with the Event and any sponsors of the Event. These third parties may include (but are not limited to) hotels, airlines, tour operators and venues. If you do not provide your personal information you will not be able to register for the Event. The Privacy Policy of each Event Organiser contains information about how You can access Your personal information and request correction or complain .
6. Event packages
Your registration specifies all included items. You must pay any fees or costs incurred with respect to any additional matters including, without limitation, optional tours, accommodation, meals, beverages, mini-bar, hotel services and transportation.
7. Accommodation
Accommodation will be provided for You for the Accommodation Dates. You must comply with all rules and requirements of the Accommodation (including, without limitation, check-in and check-out times) and the Event Organisers have no responsibility or liability to provide you with any alternative accommodation. Any room upgrades, in-room or in venue service charges or fees, charges or costs incurred by You whilst in the Accommodation will be borne by You not the Event Organisers.
8. Amendment to travel arrangements
You must pay all associated fees, charges and costs (including additional fares) if You or any Accompanying Partner change any travel arrangements (including flights, dates or times) or if You or your Accompanying Partner propose to travel outside of the Core Dates. You must contact the Event Organisers in writing to request any change to Event-related travel arrangements.
9. Special requirements
If You and/or an Accompanying Partner have any special dietary, cultural or health requirements or needs, You must inform the Event Organisers at the time of registration. The Event Organisers do not guarantee that special requests will be accommodated.
10. Payments and Travel documents
You agree for the Event Organisers (or Smartline Operations Pty Ltd as the case may be) to arrange for payment of your Registration Fees (if applicable) by deductions from Commissions as set out in the Operations Manual.
You acknowledge that Tribe may require any additional fees or charges (if any), including any extension requests, to be paid in full before the Event Organisers will provide You with travel documents.
11. Change of itinerary
The Event Organisers, acting reasonably, reserve the right to change Your and/or any Accompanying Partner's itinerary and any booking (or part thereof) relating to the Event and will notify You of any changes as soon as reasonably practicable.
12. Governing Law
This agreement is governed by the laws in force in the State of New South Wales and each party irrevocably and unconditionally submits to the exclusive jurisdiction of the New South Wales courts.
13. Cancellations
The cancellation policy for the 2025 National Conference is as follows:
• The $200 (ex GST) deposit taken at the time of booking is non-refundable.
• Cancellations from 1–31 May (inclusive) will be charged 50% of the base ticket cost:
• $837.50 ex GST for conference ticket
• $500 ex GST for conference ticket (excluding accommodation)
• $102.50 ex GST for conference pass only
• $237.50 ex GST for accompanying partner ticket).
Cancellations after 1 June will be charged the full cost of the ticket, including any optional extras booked.
Any flights and accommodation booked by You outside of the registration site (with Tribe or independently) will be subject to the relevant supplier cancellation policies.
14. Travel Insurance
You acknowledge that You and any Accompanying Partner will not be covered by any travel insurance policy of the Event Organisers. The Event Organisers strongly recommend that you make your own arrangements to obtain appropriate travel insurance for your needs.

TRIBE – Travel & Events are committed to protecting the privacy of all personal data you provide us with for this event registration. The following statements describe what we are doing with your data and how long we store it for, so you are fully informed prior to submitting your personal information and any Accompanying Partner’s personal information for event registration.
Once your registration is submitted, you or any Accompanying Partner have the right to:
• Ask us about your or the Accompanying Partner’s (as the case may be) personal data at any time
• Withdraw consent for the use of your or the Accompanying Partner’s (as the case may be) personal data at any time
• Request that we forget (anonymise) your or the Accompanying Partner’s (as the case may be) personal data
Please be aware that the withdrawal of consent after you or the Accompanying Partner’s (as the case may be) have submitted your registration will be treated as a cancellation and the event cancellation policy will apply, as noted in the event Terms and Conditions.

Why are we processing your personal data?
We ask for your or the Accompanying Partner’s personal data to facilitate registration for this event.
Distribution of data
As part of the organisation of the event, we will need to share appropriate data with third parties to process your registration. These third parties may include, but are not limited to:
• Microsoft Azure
• ANZ eGate (our secure ecommerce provider)
• Applicable hotels, airlines, transfer companies, venues and event suppliers to enable your reservation for the event
• Mortgage Choice;
• Event sponsors
Consent to receive marketing material.
By providing us with your personal information you agree that we may:
• use your personal information to promote the Event and additional activities that are being organised by the Event Organisers;
• Share your details with sponsors of the Event to enable them to contact you; and
• Provide you with current information about the Event, promotions being run throughout the Event and associated information.
How long will we store your personal data?
Tribe will need to keep a record of your data for up to 18 months after the conclusion of the event. We request that any data provided to any third parties is permanently deleted within 60 days of the conclusion of the event.
Personal data about your children or Accompanying Partner
Where you submit the personal information of an Accompanying Partner you warrant to us that you have informed them of how their data will be used and stored and have obtained their consent for this information to be held by the Event Organisers on the basis of these Terms and Conditions and in accordance with each Event Organisers’ Privacy Policy.
By providing consent below, you are authorised to provide the Personal Information of any children or Accompanying Partner for the purpose of this event. Please note that you must be over the age of 18 to provide consent for another person.
This agreement is entered into between You and TRIBE Events.
